Think about how often you use your smartphone on a daily basis. Whether it’s to skim your social media accounts, catch up on the news, or check the score of the game, you might spend hours tapping and swiping through apps. While the Edmonton 311 hotline has long been a quick and easy direct line to the city, wouldn’t it be great if you could report concerns like road maintenance or damaged road signs with just a few taps? To that end, the city created the Edmonton 311 app for your smartphone or tablet. As an app that is readily available whenever you see a problem, the Edmonton 311 app is a quick and easy way we can help keep the city clean and safe.
If you don’t have the Edmonton 311 app already, it’s incredibly easy to use. Available for Android on Google Play and for iTunes on the App Store, Edmonton 311 is a free downloadable app for your mobile device.
Once you have it downloaded, you can learn how to use the Edmonton 311 app in just a few minutes. From the home screen, you’ll see six buttons — New Request, My Requests, Tweets, Recent, My Favorites, and Reporter. Most often, you’ll use the New Request and My Requests options.

To report a problem or concern, tap New Request and choose a category for which the issue pertains. You’ll be asked to send a picture and use your phone’s GPS to point point the location of your concern. After submitting, you’ll be able to view your request and its status in the My Requests section.
By choosing, “Recent,” you can view all the recently submitted cases in the city, so you can check if your problem has already been submitted.
Since launching in July, 2014, the app has received a lot of positive feedback and has been a great way to get issues around the city resolved in a timely manner. Download the app today and get that pothole at the end of road fixed or the teeter-totter repaired at your local park.
