The 2016 Honda HR-V has finally made its way to Canada. Although we saw the all-new HR-V crossover make its North American debut a few months ago at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the exciting new crossover has officially made its Canadian debut at the Montreal International Auto Show. Although we still don’t know every last detail about the new model, we have a general timeframe for the 2016 Honda HR-V Canadian release date as well as a list of standard equipment that drivers can expect to see on each of the three trims.
The 2016 Honda HR-V is expected to arrive at dealerships across Canada, including Wheaton Honda, in the spring of 2015. While that is a rather general time frame, we’ll be sure to keep you updated when a more specific release date is announced.
The 2016 Honda HR-V will get its power from a 1.8-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC engine capable of 138 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. Although a 6-speed manual transmission is available on 2WD models, the standard HR-V configuration will sport a continuously variable transmission that helps elevate fuel efficiency. With 2WD and all-wheel drive offerings, the 2016 HR-V will be a great option for drivers seeking a winter-capable vehicle that returns exceptional fuel economy ratings.
The 2016 Honda HR-V will be available in three trims — LX, EX, and EX-L — when it makes its way to the Wheaton Honda showroom. All trims will include exceptional features like heated front seats, a rearview camera, Honda HandsFreeLink, and a 7-inch touchscreen display. Upgrading to the top trim levels will equip the crossover with advanced driver awareness aids, push button start, a power sunroof and leather trim. Like the Honda Fit, the 2016 Honda HR-V will feature “Magic Seats” that can easily be folded in a multitude of configurations to create surprising cargo space.
