Ready to shed that winter coat and get back into shape for the summer? Keep yourself motivated and focused on a goal by signing up for one of the many spring 2015 running events and races in Edmonton AB. After a long winter spent indoors, it’s time to get outside, stretch your legs, and get some great exercise. Although driving your Honda Civic might be the easier way to get from point A to point B, the runner’s high you experience afterward will make you glad you left the car in the garage. Here are a few of Edmonton’s best spring races and running events.
April 26, 2015 @ Hawrelak Park
Races: 5k, 10k, Half Marathon
Kick off the race season this spring by signing up for the Edmonton Police Foundation Half Marathon. With 5k and 10k races in addition to the half marathon, there are options for those of you easing back into a running routine. Sign up early to ensure you receive a short-sleeve running shirt with your registration. Prizes will be awarded for top individual and team finishes.
May 10, 2015 @ Hawrelak Park
Races: 5k, 10k
Start Mother’s Day off right with some great bonding time with mom during the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run & Walk. There also are registration and race bib contests that give entrants a chance at some great prizes. Proceeds from the event will go to the Forzani Foundation, which provides financial support to local charities.
May 24, 2015 @ Kinsmen Park
Races: 5k, 10k
Wouldn’t it be nice to receive a slice of pie for everything you accomplished? During Edmonton’s 3rd annual Run and Walk for Pie, you’ll get that well-deserved piece of pie when you complete the 5k or 10k race. The Run and Walk for Pie event benefits the Stollery Children’s Hospital Music Therapy Program.
While you get your body back into shape, it’s a good idea to do the same for your car. Take advantage of our spring service specials or find a great deal on a new car through the Unlock A Deal Sales event at Wheaton Honda.
