2016 Honda HR-V efficiency ratings officially announced for Canada

2016 Honda HR-V efficiency ratings officially announced for Canada

We've written at length about the all-new 2016 Honda HR-V. We've done a complete preview of the new model, provided a couple in-brand comparisons with the Honda Fit and Honda CR-V, and even showed how it will stack up against the Chevy Trax. But in all those writings, we had to estimate fuel-efficiency ratings based on the figures from the U.S. model. After a long, patient wait, we now have the official fuel-efficiency ratings for the Canadian Honda HR-V.

The 2016 Honda HR-V efficiency ratings are:

2016 Honda HR-V Pricing Efficiency

No matter which model you choose, the 2016 Honda HR-V will be powered by an incredibly efficient 1.8-litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine capable of 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. The discrepancies between models in the table above depend on the choice of transmission (6-speed manual or CVT) and drive (FWD or AWD). No matter which model you choose, you can rest easy knowing you'll be behind the wheel of one of the most efficient models in this category.

2016 Honda HR-V Pricing

Honda Canada also officially released pricing for its new compact crossover. The base model will start at just $20,690 while the MSRP will rise in by increments listed in the above table. Even the top-of-the-line EX-L Navi trim starts below $30,000, making the all-new HR-V and incredible value.

2016 Honda HR-V Safety

The 2016 Honda HR-V will feature Honda's next-generation ACE body structure, which is expected to lead the new model to class-leading collision ratings from the NHTSA and IIHS. Honda also expects a rating of GOOD from the IIHS in the challenging small-overlap frontal collision test.

The new HR-V also will come with available active safety features such as a multi-angle rearview camera, Honda LaneWatch, and Forward Collision warnings.

Meet with a Wheaton Honda vehicle specialist to get a full breakdown on the standard and available features within the 2016 Honda HR-V and sign up to be among the first to test drive the new crossover when it touches down on the Wheaton Honda lot.
