2016 Honda Accord Specs & Features
For the 2016 model year, Honda gave the Accord a much-needed facelift. The Accord was originally introduced in 1976, and has changed quite a bit since then, but its ninth generation kicked off for the 2013 model year, so it was about time for a few tweaks to make it fresh and new without completely overhauling it. With that in mind, we thought now would be a good time to go over some of the 2016 Honda Accord specs & features to remind you not just of what’s new, but why the Accord is such a great option in the midsize sedan or coupe segments.

2016 Honda Accord Specifications
In a midsize sedan, performance and fuel efficiency are often looked at as some of the most important specifications. The space of the interior is also pretty important, though perhaps not as much so as it is in crossovers or SUVs. We thought we’d look at all three areas to show you just how multi-faceted the Accord is, starting with a look at the engine options. There are two different engines available in the new Honda Accord, a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and a 3.5L V6.
The smaller of the two engines is found in both the EX and Touring trim levels, delivering 185 horsepower alongside 181 pound-feet of torque while operating at a decent combined fuel efficiency rating of 8.0 l/100km when tethered to the continuously variable transmission system. The V6 on the other hand is only available on the Touring trim level. It delivers an impressive 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft. of torque, while achieving a slightly-lesser 9.5 l/100km combined efficiency with its automatic transmission.
Either option delivers great performance and efficiency, but the dimensions are impressive as well. As far as cargo capacity is concerned, the trunk permits 13.4 cu. ft. of space to fill with whatever items you made need to bring along. But what’s more impressive is its 93.1 cu. ft. of passenger volume, providing plenty of cabin space for a midsize sedan.
2016 Honda Accord Features
As for features, we’ve already outlined a few of the exciting technologies available in the new model. These include things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, or the ECON Mode with Eco Assist, but the most exciting is the Honda Sensing Safety Suite. It is a whole collection of driver-assistive safety features and more, including things like Forward Collision Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control among many others.
