2016 Honda Pilot Specs & Features
The Honda Pilot is a midsize crossover that was originally introduced back for the 2003 model year. It was overhauled for the 2009 model year, but last year Honda decided it was time for another big change, and thus the third-generation 2016 Honda Pilot was born. It has been a minute since we talked about the all-new model specifically, so we thought we’d go ahead and give you a refresher on the specs & features that make it such a great option in its segment.

“With looks that command attention and the powerful presence of true functionality, the 2016 Pilot sets a new benchmark in the intermediate SUV class with an unmatched combination of advance technology and utility. This means the all-new Pilot will provide family comfort, entertainment and assistance to active Canadians in all aspects of their lives, whether it’s an evening out for two, a road trip adventure for all or just the chores of everyday life,” stated the Senior Vice President of Operations at Honda Canada Inc., Dave Gardner.
Why should I purchase a 2016 Honda Pilot?
When looking at a vehicle like the 2016 Honda Pilot, the two most important aspects to consider are space and power. Obviously, you’re considering a large crossover because you know you’ll often have a lot of passengers, or at the very least a need to often cart around a lot of cargo. Thus, you’re going to want a lot of cabin space in order to achieve either goal.
In the newest Pilot, you and your passengers – up to 8 of them total – will have 151.7 cubic feet of space to stretch out and get comfortable in. That’s more than enough space, especially when considering that you still have a cargo area that provides 18.5 cu. ft. to accommodate whatever you might need to bring along for the ride as well. Of course, dropping the 3rd and 2nd rows of seats will open up even more space, 55.9 and 109.0 cu. ft. respectively.
In terms of power, the 2016 Honda Pilot only has one powertrain option: a 3.5L V6 engine capable of doling out 280 horsepower alongside 262 pound-feet of torque. That’s plenty of power to not only make sure you want whoever or whatever else is in your vehicle get where you want to go, but to get you there in an enjoyable way as well.
As far as features are concerned, the all-new Pilot is packed from bumper to bumper with great features both inside and out. LED lighting and rain-sensing wiper blades are a couple examples of the features found on the outside of the vehicle, while technologies like the proximity key entry system, 7-speaker audio system and Honda Sensing Safety Suite provide convenience, entertainment and safety inside the cabin.
This is why we think you should purchase a 2016 Honda Pilot, and if after hearing a little bit more about the specs & features available in crossover you think you should too, be sure to give us a call or schedule a test drive right here on our website.
