2016 Easter Egg Hunts and Events Edmonton AB
In case you weren’t aware, the Easter Bunny is coming a little bit early this year. Unlike some holidays, like Christmas which always occurs on December 25th, Easter is determined a little bit differently, and can fall on any date between March 22nd and April 25th each year. In 2016, Easter falls on March 27th, which means we’re only a couple weeks away from egg hunts and giant bunnies! In preparation, we thought we’d give you a quick rundown on a few 2016 Easter Egg Hunts and Events in Edmonton AB that we’re looking forward to ourselves.

Hop! Easter Festival
The first event we’re looking at is a fairly new annual four-day festival, occurring for the fourth year in a row at Prairie Gardens right here in Edmonton. Each day the Hop! Easter Festival festivities will kick off with a pancake breakfast at 10:00 a.m., featuring a certain fluffy special guest. After that there will be several great activities and workshops running all the way through until 4:00 p.m. Tickets run for just over $14.00, and certain things will cost a bit extra, but with activities like hourly Easter egg hunts, a petting farm and hay rides it’s well worth the price.
If you’re looking for something a little less “all day” than a trip to Prairie Gardens, you can head over to Easter Eggstravaganza at the University of Alberta for a couple hours of Easter fun on March 26th. With check-in occurring at noon, $5 per child will get you into the Easter Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, and then Hot Chocolate at 2:00 p.m. while participating in other fun family activities. You have to make sure you’re registered before March 18th, so head over to the site now to make sure.
Hop to it! Easter Monday
Finally, you can head to the Edmonton Valley Zoo for Hop to it! Easter Monday, which will obviously take place on March 28th – Easter Monday. Featuring tons of great activities beyond simply hanging out with the animals, like airbrushed tattoos, crafts and even science experiments, the Valley Zoo promises fun for the whole family. Plus one of the most exciting festivities will be the Get Closer event, which allows kids to get a bit closer to the animals, and witness them go on an Easter egg hunt of their own.
[hr]Whatever you decide to do for Easter, we just hope that you enjoy the holiday weekend with your family! So from everyone here at Wheaton Honda, Happy Easter![hr]
