After such a gigantic, successful 2016 model year, Honda hasn’t pulled back the curtain very far on what will be happening for 2017. “The new Honda Accord Hybrid is the ultimate Accord – the most refined, technologically advanced and, of course, most fuel efficient in the lineup. With the addition of this new hybrid model, we are pleased to offer more options for our customers.”
– Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President of Operations, Honda Canada Inc.
Specs & Features of the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid
Perhaps the most important enhancement for the new Accord Hybrid is its second-generation two-motor powertrain. The new engine is predicted to not only be the most efficient in the midsize hybrid sedan segment, but also the most powerful, as the 2.0L hybrid engine will achieve 4.9 l/100km city and 5.1 l/100km highway and 212 horsepower, an absolutely impressive combination.
Another perk of the new powertrain is its innovative take on creating power, innovative in such a way that a standard transmission isn’t even necessary. The powertrain will be able to float between three different modes quite smoothly. The modes are EV Drive – which turns off the gas-powered engine, Hybrid Drive – which combines power from both the electric and gasoline engines, and Engine Drive – which is just your old fashion gas-powered driving.
Of course the new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid will also adopt all of the updates that the 2016 Honda Accord went through in its mid-generation refresh this year, thus giving us a stylish, sporty hybrid vehicle that you’d be hard-pressed to find a better option for. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call, but we’ll be updating you as more information becomes available!
