Major New Features in the 2017 Honda Ridgeline
A couple of days ago we finally gave you your first look at some of the specifications and features that will be found in the upcoming, next-generation Ridgeline, but the post was focused more on the important specs we know you were waiting for. So we figured today we’d look a little bit more at the other part by diving into some of the major new features in the 2017 Honda Ridgeline, the most important of which would perhaps be the new 3.5L V6 engine featuring technologies like direct injection and Variable Cylinder Management. After a multi-year hiatus, Ridgeline engineers have had plenty of time to update and enhance our favorite midsize truck. Looking at pictures like the ones below have already shown us a great deal of the cosmetic changes and aesthetic enhancements, but pictures don’t give us very much to go on in terms of the features inside. So let’s dive into some of the different aspects of the truck to figure out exactly what’s new inside the 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
Aside from the new engine that we already spoke of, the all-new Ridgeline also received a new 6-speed automatic transmission, Intelligent Variable Torque Management and Intelligent Traction Management Systems and even Amplitude Reactive Dampers, which are all meant to make your vehicle perform better and thus deliver a more comfortable, enjoyable ride.
Safety features are becoming more advanced every year, and the new Ridgeline is no different, adding a host of new upgrades and safety systems including the full Honda Sensing suite.

Of course entertainment is important for everyone in the vehicle, including the driver. These features were each added or upgraded for the 2017 Ridgeline to make the drive more comfortable and enjoyable.

Additionally, all of the following features were added to make the second-generation Ridgeline even more convenient – including things like reduced noise and ease-of-access.

- Rear window featuring defroster, either fixed or powered depending on trim level
- Smart Entry
- Push-Button Start
- Remote Engine Start
- 115V in-bed power outlet
