Other Local Events in the Edmonton AB Area

Celebrate Canada Day at City Hall

One of the best ways to celebrate Canada Day on Friday July 1st is to head over to City Hall from noon to 4:00 p.m. for tons of free family fun. With entertainment from a host of different performers, tons of free giveaways and plenty of other great activities like airbrush tattoos, pool activities and even a chess tournament.

Edmonton Canada Day Fireworks

Then after that, you can seek out a perfect viewing location for the outstanding fireworks show that will happen right over the Edmonton river valley parks and North Saskatchewan River at 11:00 p.m. Some of the best places to go are the Alberta Legislature Grounds, Victoria Park, Ezio Faraone Park, Government House Park and the Edmonton Ballpark.

Canada Day at the Legislature

An alternative plan provides another opportunity for plenty of free family fun across four different zones, by heading to the Legislature to honor the history and diversity of our province. Head to the Alberta Family Fun Zone, Alberta Diver4sity State, Alberta Discovered State or Alberta House State for different performances throughout the day. But in the morning, you can have a pancake breakfast on the south grounds, followed by cake at 11:30. The fun kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on some stages, and there will be a 21-gun salute at noon.
