Other Local Events in the Edmonton AB Area

Up + Downtown Festival

Every year over October long weekend – AKA Thanksgiving – Up + Downtown Festival, or UP+DT as it’s also known, comes into town. A festival of local and independent music and art, you can head to their website to get detailed information on acts – of which there will be more than 60 – as well as tickets. Angry Birds Universe at TELUS

Looking for something fun and educational to do with the whole family? The TELUS World of Science in Edmonton is always a great education for that. Opening on October 8th, just two days before Thanksgiving Monday, Angry Birds Universe promises to be great fun for everyone who attends. Packed with tons of hands-on, interactive exhibits, your kids will love every moment they spend in the Angry Birds Universe.

Dig-In Horticulinary Festival

If neither a music festival nor interactive fun sound like your thing, then perhaps the Dig-In Horticulinary Festival in St. Albert will. Who doesn’t like food, after all? This festival is dedicated to locally-grown food and ingredients, and will be packed with demonstrations and workshops teaching you tons of things about eating, cooking and even growing locally yourself. It’s not actually in Edmonton, but St. Albert isn’t too far away!

If all else fails, you can always head to some of the great farmer’s markets here in Edmonton, which are all also a great way to spend an afternoon, or even a whole day. Happy early Thanksgiving from the whole Wheaton Honda family!
