2017 Honda Civic Type R Exterior Design & Style
At the Paris Auto Show in France earlier this week, a prototype for the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Type R was finally unveiled. Considering the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback is set to arrive any day now, it was the perfect time to give enthusiasts a morsel of the future. We still don’t know exactly when the Canadian release date will be set, but we do have a pretty good idea of what the 2017 Honda Civic Type R exterior design & style will look like now.

“We promised the most ambitious, sportiest Civic lineup ever and we’re delivering on that promise with each new Civic. For the first time ever in America, Honda fans and enthusiasts will have access to the ultimate in Civic performance in the form of the new Type R.”
– Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Honda Division, American Honda
You can check out the images below to get an idea of what the new model should look like. The vehicle features an overly-aggressive fascia on both the front and rear, wheel arches that are more extended than normal, an over-the-top rear wing that fits perfectly on the vehicle, carbon fiber side skirts, 20” piano-black-alloy wheels, a tri-exhaust design and much more.
When will the 2017 Honda Civic Type R be released?
At this point, we’re still not certain exactly when the new Honda Civic Type R will be released. We’re happy we finally got a look at its exterior and some confirmation on what might be included in the vehicle, but facts are still sparse regarding the highly-anticipated performance vehicle. We know it will be released at some point during the 2017 calendar year, but which model year will it belong to? 2017? 2018?
We hope it will be released earlier in the year and thus as a 2017 model, but there is a chance – considering the prototype is just being unveiled now – that the production model won’t be finalized and introduced until the middle of the year, and at that point we would expect it to belong to the 2018 model year.
