Honda is playing its cards pretty close to the chest in advance of the 2016 LA Auto Show, which kicks off on Wednesday of this week. The next day, Nov. 17th, at 1:55 p.m. PT, Honda will host its press conference with a special surprise. So, while we can’t say for sure what Honda is planning for the show this year, we can give a few predictions.
We know that the entire 2017 Honda Civic lineup will undoubtedly be present, which includes the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback that has already rolled out across North America. But it also includes the 2017 Honda Civic Type R Prototype, which just made its North American debut at the SEMA Show a couple of weeks ago. But could a prototype for the 2017 Honda Civic Si also be present? We heard a rumor that the Si will be seen un-camouflaged for the first time at the LA Auto Show. As we said, we don’t know for sure, but we will be crossing our fingers!
Special Announcement from Honda and NHL
One thing that we can say for certain, because Honda has already given us a head’s up to look forward to it, is that both Honda and the National Hockey League will be making a special announcement at their press conference. The announcement is likely to be tied to Honda’s role as the Official Vehicle of the NHL, and we can say with certainty that an NHL icon will likely be present to make the announcement.
In the press release in which Honda clued us into the major announcement, it was also confirmed that Honda will indeed be revealing a new vehicle. So, could it be the 2017 Civic Si? Or maybe something else? We cannot wait to find out, so be sure to check back later this week or early next week to find out even more about Honda at the 2016 LA Auto Show.
