What's new in the 2018 Honda Civic Si Sedan & Coupe?

Little has changed between the 2017 and 2018 model years for the tenth-generation Honda Civic Si Sedan & Coupe vehicles, but we haven’t yet gotten an opportunity to chat about the final member of the 10th-gen Civic fam. So, we figured we would go ahead and dive into what’s new in the Civic Si models over their previous generation, to catch you up on exactly what kind of specs & features make them such great, sport-injected options.

“The 2017 Honda Civic Si [was] our first turbocharged Si and [it] sets a new sporty compact benchmark in terms of agility and precise handling while building toward the launch of the Type R as the final chapter in our epic 10th-generation Civic story.”

- Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President of the Automobile Division, American Honda

Performance

Both the Si Coupe & Si Sedan are powered by a high-performance 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, that as Jeff Conrad mentioned last year is the first turbocharged engine found in an Si model. It’s capable of doling out 205 horsepower alongside 192 pound-feet of torque. Of course, despite these high-power numbers, the Si models still achieve impressive fuel economy ratings like you’ve come to expect from a Honda vehicle, with both the Sedan & Coupe achieving 7.4 l/100km combined.

Style

The overall style of the vehicle is where a majority of changes came into being. With a gloss black Honda wing, a more aggressive front fascia, air intakes that are both larger and lower, redesigned 5-spoke alloy wheels with a machined finish that is exclusive to the model, and much more.

Safety

Even in a sports car like one of these two models, maybe even especially in a sports car, safety is still an important aspect of the vehicle’s makeup. While the Si models don’t come with Honda Sensing, they do come with plenty of great safety features like Vehicle Stability Assist, Agile Handling Assist, anti-lock brakes and many others. So many, in fact, that they helped it achieve a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from NHTSA.

We have 2017 model-year Honda Civic Si models in stock, for both the Sedan and Coupe. Keep an eye on our inventory or our showroom if you happen by the dealership for the 2018 models. We’ll keep you posted here!
