2016 Honda CR-V vs 2016 Mazda CX-5
Compact crossover SUVs have been an incredibly popular class of vehicles since they were first introduced. The combination of the capability of an SUV and high fuel economy numbers means drivers really do get the best of both worlds. Each vehicle has shown to excel beyond the offerings of other competitors with incredible style, efficiency, versatility, capability, and features.
So, if we were to compare the most recent model of each vehicle, which would we find to be the best option? If we look at the 2016 Honda CR-V vs 2016 Mazda CX-5, if is clear there are many similarities. Both vehicles have unique, sleek styling that sets them apart from other SUVs in their class. Key Differences Between the 2016 Honda CR-V and 2016 Mazda CX-5
The 2016 Honda CR-V is overall more powerful than the 2016 Mazda CX-5. Both the horsepower and torque are higher for the CR-V than the CX-5 by around 30. This may not seem like a huge discrepancy, but there are times that extra power could come in handy on the road. When it comes down to interior cargo space, the Honda CR-V is also superior to the Mazda CX-5. The CR-V has 1,054 litres of space behind the rear seats and 2,007 litres of space with the rear seats folded down. When compared to the CX-5’s 966 litres of space behind the rears seats and 1,852 litres of space with the rear seats folded down, it is clear the CR-V is the winner here.
One other area where the 2016 Honda CR-V rises above the 2016 Mazda CX-5 would be in the standard features. If we look at the base LX-2WD trim of the CR-V and the base GX FWD trim of the CX-5, we can find certain features in the Honda that aren’t available in the Mazda, like heated front seats and a rearview camera. Higher trim levels of each model will have more premium features of course, but overall the Honda CR-V ultimately provides more value than the Mazda CX-5 when it comes to the standard equipment.
