2016 Honda CR-Z vs 2016 Kia Forte Koup
While it might not be the most recognizable vehicle on the Honda lineup, the Honda CR-Z has plenty to boast about. For instance, it is one of the only vehicles on the market than can call itself a sport hybrid coupe. Looking to bring the best of both a sports car and hybrid vehicle together, Honda created the CR-Z, and it delivered a great blend of power and efficiency, with plenty of sporty design cues to boot. While there aren’t many direct competitors available on the market, we decided to compare it to a vehicle that comes pretty close, by pitting the 2016 Honda CR-Z vs 2016 Kia Forte Koup.
Advantages of the 2016 Honda CR-Z
Starting from the top of the table above, the 2016 Honda CR-Z quickly asserts its dominance in fuel efficiency, operating at 1.2 l/100km less fuel than its Kia Forte Koup competitor. Unfortunately, the Forte Koup does offer superior power in the form of 43 horsepower, but that advantage is diminished quite a bit by the fact that the CR-Z weighs 223 lbs. less than its rival. While it certainly doesn’t completely get rid of the advantage the Koup has, it definitely cuts it down quite a bit.
Meaning, at this point, the battle is between efficiency or power, and the CR-Z’s edge in efficiency is likely a bit more than the Forte Koup’s power advantage. But the CR-Z isn’t quite done yet, as it also dominates the Kia Forte Koup in terms of cargo capacity, offering nearly twice as much space in the form of an extra 11.8 cu. ft.
