2016 Honda Odyssey vs 2016 Honda Pilot
One reason for the gradual decline in minivan popularity over the past several years is the emergence of crossover utility vehicles. Crossovers are the perfect blend between minivans and massive SUVs, offering many of the best features of both while providing a much more stylish exterior than many minivans. However, there are still plenty of advantages that minivans have over their crossover counterparts, which is exactly why we thought we’d take a closer look at the 2016 Honda Odyssey vs 2016 Honda Pilot, to showcase those areas where the Odyssey minivan still has advantages over the Pilot crossover.
Differences Between the 2016 Honda Fit, Pilot
Looking at the table above, you can tell that each vehicle has its advantages. For starters let’s look at combined fuel efficiency, where the Odyssey technically takes the cake. But an advantage of 0.2 l/100km is practically nothing, and would hardly be noticeable even at the gas pump after a year. So unfortunately for the Odyssey, it doesn’t get much of an edge there. The Pilot, however, fires off with a pretty big one: 32 horsepower.
A minivan isn’t a sports car by any means, but it still needs plenty of power to get up and go with you and all of the extra weight from your passengers and/or cargo, while still delivering an enjoyable driving experience. So the Pilot’s extra 32 horsepower is pretty big. So let’s get down to business, where does the Odyssey trump its crossover counterparts? Space of course!
The 2016 Honda Odyssey offers a massive 38.4 cu. ft. of cargo capacity behind the back seat alone, which is nearly 20 cu. ft. more than the Pilot offers behind its back seat. That’s a ton of extra space, and further more let’s look at passenger volume. The Odyssey offers 211.0 cu. ft. to accommodate its 7 passengers, while the 2016 Honda Pilot only offers 171.4 cu. ft.
So as you can see, both the 2016 Honda Odyssey and Pilot offer plenty of advantages. If you’re interested in either vehicle, be sure to give us a call or schedule a test drive right here on our website. We can’t wait to get you behind the wheel of your perfect vehicle!
