Back in 1999, Honda released a 3-door subcompact hybrid sedan they called the Insight. In 2006, they discontinued it. Then in 2010, they reintroduced the Insight, now as a 5-door compact hybrid sedan. But in 2014 it was discontinued again. Well, the new model year sees the vehicle return once more, and we feel like it’s going to be third times the charm for the 2019 Honda Insight in Edmonton AB.
The all-new 2019 Honda Insight picks up where the model’s last generation left off, as a compact hybrid sedan. It’s unclear at this time whether or not it will once again be a hatchback, but the five-passenger sedan promises to be roomy, filled with technology, and of course one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles not only on the Honda lineup but in its segment as a whole.
Specs & Features of the 2019 Insight
The exterior of the 2019 Insight is outfitted with plenty of LED lighting and the signature design cues congruent with the entire Honda lineup, like its bold front fascia capped off with the flying wing grille. On the inside, Honda has stated that the Insight will also offer best-in-class passenger space. Keeping those passengers entertained will be a number of premium features, including an 8” display audio screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, among others. Another confirmed feature that we’re sure you’ll love is a 7” LCD multi-information display dedicated to pertinent vehicle information.
As for performance and efficiency, the 2019 Honda Insight will be powered by Honda’s third-generation two-motor hybrid system, which includes a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine. While, at the time of writing this, we don’t yet have official power ratings, the combined fuel economy rating is anticipated to be less than 4.7 l/100km. That’s an incredible number as it is, so we cannot wait to hear the official rating.
We’ve only just begun digging into the 2019 Honda Insight with this information, so if you’re interested in learning more don’t hesitate to get in touch with us right here at Wheaton Honda!
