New 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid for Sale in Edmonton, AB
More than just efficiency
If someone tells you in Edmonton that they drive a hybrid car, it's tempting to assume the only thing they were bothered about when they bought it was the fuel economy it could deliver. While there's no denying that the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid has excellent fuel economy, there's so much more to this sensational midsize sedan than just the limited number of visits you'll pay to the gas station
Styling and trim levels
The midsize sedan segment used to be the most fiercely competitive part of the auto business, and for any car to make an impression on the market it had to be seriously good in a segment full of seriously good cars. The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid is a product of that fierce competition where cars had to look sensational as well as delivering big on every other level as well. The Accord Hybrid is a sensational-looking car with its elongated profile and tapered, coupe-like roofline that works so well with the shoulder creases stamped into its body. There's more than a hint of luxury car about how the Accord Hybrid looks, but not about how much it costs to buy.
There are just two well-equipped trim levels to choose between with the Accord Hybrid, which are the entry-level Accord Hybrid and the Accord Hybrid Touring that are both exclusively front-wheel-drive models.
Powertrain and fuel economy
Both versions of the Accord Hybrid feature the same hybrid powertrain. The power unit is a combination of a 2.0-litre Atkinson Cycle DOHC, i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack that develops a net 212 horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque. Although the Accord Hybrid is almost 50kg heavier than no-hybrid versions of the Accord, it splits the difference in terms of performance between the two gas-only engines in the standard Accord lineup, and the power is sent to the front wheels through a CVT transmission.
The fuel economy ratings are perhaps unsurprisingly excellent, with the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid returning very symmetrical figures of 5.0 L/100 km for city, highway and combined driving conditions.
Features and equipment
To call the most affordable of the two Accord Hybrid trim levels a base model would probably be quite insulting when you see the list of standard features it comes with. They include the likes of dual-zone climate control, a multi-angle rearview camera, keyless entry, and pushbutton start, 12-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, a premium sound system with 10 speakers, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, and a raft of active and passive safety features.
Moving up to the Accord Hybrid Touring model adds the likes of an Adaptive Damper System, satellite navigation, a head-up display, front and rear parking sensors, heated rear seats, perforated leather upholstery, 19-inch alloy wheels, a one-touch power moonroof and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
