Out of Town Buyers Program


As an out-of-town buyer, you only pay the taxes applicable to the province you live in. If arrangements are made to have your vehicle delivered inside Alberta, then we only charge GST (5%) as delivery is taking place in your province.

A Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will apply to customers shipping a vehicle to Saskatchewan, Manitoba or other provinces with PST. The Canada Revenue Agency has additional resources on out-of-province purchases.


Many of our clients choose to ship their new vehicle. Our trusted shipping partners will ensure that your vehicle arrives in a timely manner and in the condition it departed. We can take a full array of professional photos of your vehicle before it leaves our dealership and our Delivery Coordinators and sales team will keep you informed of your vehicle’s whereabouts throughout the shipping process.

The average cost to ship a vehicle almost anywhere inside Alberta is $300, and approximately $500 to Saskatchewan. We can include a shipping quote if requested, and will accommodate shipping to anywhere in Canada.

Trading in a Vehicle

We will do our best to provide the trade-in-value of a vehicle sight-unseen. The more information you can provide including a vehicle description, any additional equipment (roof racks, floor mats, spare tire, etc.) and any pictures or video that you would like to take will help us give you the best value for your trade. We are happy to arrange to have a trade-in vehicle shipped to us.

What kind of guarantee or warranty do I get?

If you are purchasing a vehicle at Wheaton Honda then you will have access to a full range of New Honda Benefits as well as Used Honda Benefits through our Honda Certified Pre-owned Program. If you are purchasing a new Honda vehicle you will have access to Honda’s Standard Warranty including a Five Year/100,000 km No Nonsense Warranty and an available Honda Plus Extended Warranty.

Depending on the vehicle that you are purchasing there may or may not be any remaining manufacturer’s warranty. For added peace of mind we offer and can tailor a warranty to your specific driving needs. Our Sales Consultants and Financial Services managers will work with you to ensure you are getting the proper and adequate coverage for your new vehicle.

So if I am not buying a Honda does that mean I am getting a sub-standard vehicle?

Absolutely not, we are dedicated to ensuring that we sell a quality vehicle no matter the brand. Our entire pre-owned inventory has been fully safety inspected and reconditioned to the standards set by our dealership and our dealer group.

I have never bought a vehicle without seeing it. How do I know that it is in good condition?

Wheaton Honda we will provide you with all of the information that you will need to make an informed purchase decision including CarProof accident reports, mechanical reports, and a range of professional photos so you can see the vehicle you are looking to purchase.

What if my vehicle is damaged during shipping?

Our shipping partners are fully insured and any new damages found after transport will be rectified. Our team can take a range of professional photos to document the shape of your vehicle before it leaves our dealership so you will have a record of its condition before it leaves our dealership. Our shipping partners will work with us to ensure that you are taken care of during every step of the process.

Do I have to get an inspection on my car once it arrives?

If your new vehicle is a pre-owned vehicle and is being shipped outside of B.C., then yes, it will have to have an out-of-province inspection. This low cost inspection is a formality to ensure that the vehicle you are bringing in meets the requirements of your province. Our reconditioning standards mean that the vehicle that you are purchasing will meet the requirements of your home Province. You will receive the service inspection of your vehicle via email and the printed copies will arrive with your vehicle.

What kind of finance rate would I get?

We work with a number of financial institutions to ensure that we get you the most competitive rate for the vehicle you are purchasing. A number of factors can affect what rate we can get, and our Financial Services Office will work diligently to ensure you get best rate for the vehicle you are buying. Honda Canada Certified vehicles may also qualify for special sub-vented rates through Honda Financial Services. Check with one of our Sales Consultants for current offerings.
