Out of Province Inspections
Moving to a new province is no small matter. While there is undoubtedly a lot on your mind when you relocate, Wheaton Honda is here to help Honda owners quickly get their vehicles registered in Edmonton. As a required step to receiving vehicle registration in Alberta and other provinces, our Out-Of-Province vehicle inspection program is quick and affordable. The inspection takes approximately two hours and is performed by our team of certified technicians.
As a licensed vehicle inspection facility with a valid Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council license in Edmonton, you can schedule an out-of-town vehicle inspection at Wheaton Honda and be on your way to receiving Alberta vehicle registration.
What is the vehicle inspection all about?
An Out of Province (OOP) Vehicle Inspection is a mechanical fitness assessment of nearly all vehicle components, including fuel and exhaust systems, all electrical, engine controls, powertrain, driveline, steering, suspension, braking systems, wiring and lights, tires, glass, wipers and defrosters. The vehicle inspection usually takes about 2 hours to perform.
Your vehicle must be maintained within Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) standards or wear tolerances in order to pass the Alberta auto inspection.
If your car fails the initial vehicle inspection, it must be repaired within 10 days of the failure notice in order to avoid an additional full car inspection fee assessment. Once your vehicle passes the car inspection, you will be issued an inspection certificate that is valid for 14 days. You must then register your car in Alberta before the expiry date, or you will have to get a full OOP Vehicle Inspection done again.
